“O” is for One, Opera, Ollie The One Eyed Octopus and a Real Mirror

Good evening lovely Travellers,

How did you fare today on this fine Monday? It’s abit overcast here and gloomy and windy and chilly and well, Fall. First day I’ve adorned myself with a sweater. And there is a chill drifting over the hard wood floors in the house, which means there’s only 5 months till we are back to Spring!!

Let’s talk about “O”…and by the way, in case you have just stumbled into this space, on Mondays we wear pink! No, on Monday’s we use our imaginations to invoke fun and frivolity. We remind ourselves that the world is filled with all the joys of our childhood if we just take a moment and pause to engage that part of our minds.

Make Good Choices…

And we are back Travellers,

I’ve been working on a lot of internal exploration these past two weeks. This is what I mean when I say “soul spelunking”, it’s the internal climbing around inside yourself so to speak. Digging into yourself, your emotions, your choices, your experiences to discover who you really are. Processing and shining a light into the darkness that you’ve been ignoring all your life.

It’s Mopsy Day!!

Good morning Travellers,

It doesn’t really seem like a morning anymore without a walk. It’s amazing how quickly you can create a small change in life that mean so much. Walking in the early evening just doesn’t have the same effect…I want it to be Spring again just so the light shifts back for early morning walks…we haven’t even breached Winter yet, and I’m already wanting to jump to the next season, typical human yearnings, am I right?

My calendar says today is Mopsy Day!!

“M” is for Mountains, music, my birthday & tiny animal ears

Good evening Travellers,

I realize I am sooooo late, my apologies. I missed the early morning…because it’s my birthday today and well, HERE I AM!!! Since it’s my birthday, you gotta open ALL THE LINKS. Think of it as my present to you!

Have about we call this the Midnight edition of Imagination Monday?

The last walk…

The weekend is here Travellers,

I hate to say it but, we are at the end of our morning walks as the light is arriving a few minutes later each day and the temperature is slowly drifting towards a frost.

It’s time to break out the cardigans and the hoodies.

I’d like to just take a moment this morning to stop and consider the sheer genius of the seasons. The intricacies of their progression. The way they nurture one another. The way Spring gives it’s rain to Summer for green green everything. Summer warms the Earth and nurtures everything it touches, fortifying it for Fall. Fall slows down the speed of life to ease into Winter. Winter then stores all it’s energy in a sort of restful sleep, then the world goes quiet, only to erupt in a crescendo that we call Spring.

Storms

Good morning Travellers,

It’s a rainy one, all night, all morning. Think there’s been more rain here this year than any year of my entire life, no matter where I’ve lived. Rain. Rain. Rain.

Sometimes I feel like it’s trying to wash away something…(Listen and insert Bon Iver)

Last night, as the storm was coming, it was really quite beautiful…there’s is a strange beauty in chaos isn’t there? Though I’m not sure storms are really chaos, are they? I really liked how the sky looked like it was swelling around the sun, swathing it in darkness…this is around 7pm..it made a sunshine belly button in the sky…

Do you have a Vienna?

Dear Travellers,

This past weekend, I was watching “The Politician” on Netflix, which was a lukewarm experience on the whole outside of two moments. Both of them involved Ben Platt singing. There’s a reason this man won a Tony, am I right?

Anyways, the second song comes near the end of the series. It kinda makes the other 7 hours of it all worth it when he sings “Vienna” which is Billy Joel gold. I think I may have all forgotten just how good Joel was as a lyricist much less pianist. When the song was originally released, I was just a little kid and didn’t even know what it was about.

“L” is for a little boat & a little mountain

Happy Monday Travellers!!

It begins again, doesn’t it? I awoke this morning to a strange dream and THIS SONG playing over and over in my head. All I could hear Rihanna and the words, “So live your life..” and then I realized, today is “L” and “L” is for LIFE, isn’t it?

In case you are new here, GREETINGS and SALUTATIONS, please refer to this post, or this post, or any Monday post that begins it’s title with a letter in quotations. It’ll give you a better idea of what’s happening in the space below, but in short, I’m using a childhood exercise to reframe Mondays. To remove the dread and despair and replace it with fun and imagination.
