“P” is for plants and planting, perfectional, & beanstalk ladders

Happy Monday Travellers,

I took a little hiatus last week for some soul searching AKA, having no time to write in the mornings as I’m trying to rehab my ankle and I’m feeling lost at large in life right now.

I actually could not get this to post this morning, so I’m here after dinner, trying to get it on. Again…

Because of course, I would not miss a Monday to spread some imaginative FUN!! Morning or evening…Mondays deserve us to show up with a better attitude don’t they? Think of the weight Monday has to carry on it’s little back. It’s the day that follows the weekend, it’s the work after the party or naps. Mondays deserve some sympathy…and fun.

“M” is for Mountains, music, my birthday & tiny animal ears

“L” is for a little boat & a little mountain

Happy Monday Travellers!!

It begins again, doesn’t it? I awoke this morning to a strange dream and THIS SONG playing over and over in my head. All I could hear Rihanna and the words, “So live your life..” and then I realized, today is “L” and “L” is for LIFE, isn’t it?

In case you are new here, GREETINGS and SALUTATIONS, please refer to this post, or this post, or any Monday post that begins it’s title with a letter in quotations. It’ll give you a better idea of what’s happening in the space below, but in short, I’m using a childhood exercise to reframe Mondays. To remove the dread and despair and replace it with fun and imagination.

“I” is for kid stuff and dropping the mic

Hello Travellers,

Here’s Monday!!

Only this one here in the States is a holiday for most, which means no work today. I had set my alarm for 5am, but didn’t get up until 6am, because well, it’s a holiday. And I’m here late, because it’s a holiday…

Our morning walk was uneventful. The sky was clear, the sun rising, and I tell you, no clouds equals no greater glory. Don’t get me wrong, the way the sun’s rays cast their light across whatever object they encounter is a thing of beauty, but it fails to really make my jaw drop in wonder like the clouds can. And walking with the rising sun is still the best wake up I think a human can experience.

Not sure what I’m going to do when winter comes though…But we’ll worry about that when the time comes, which is something I need to learn to say more often in life.

Is your imagination ready?

“G” is for fish cars & jungle gym bars

It’s Monday again Travellers,

This is a humid one with a rather difficult start. It was hard for me to rise and shine, just like the sun is having a hard time finding it’s way thru the wavy cloud banks this morning. And we encountered many unpleasant smells and grumpy faces on our walk. I thought I should let you know that not every morning is amazing here, but we keep going. Apparently, the world did not get the memo today that Mondays are now fun, or at least they COULD be…

Today our letter is “G” and you are really going to have to close your eyes and visualize these ideas because they require some serious imagination skills. Do you remember how to do that, close yours and see all the possibilities and none of the restrictions we place on ourselves as adults. I believe we call it reality…yea, you’re going to have to suspend that for now…

“C” is for Crescent Moon

And How’s your Monday morning Travellers?

It’s been raining here, so no morning walk, in fact, I can’t honestly say I even got up remotely on time for a walk. I struggled to find my way into bed last night, so it’s good that it rained, makes me feel less of a loser for not getting up on time…

You know what day it is, and since the third time is the charm, a brief quid pro quo… Mondays here in this space are for reminding us of the wonder that lives in our imaginations long forgotten in the ravages of adulthood. Today, let’s embrace Monday for what it can be, another day to squeeze out some less serious silliness.
